TRAIL RUNNING IN THE VINEYARDS OF VALTELLINA
The Valtellina Wine Trail 2024 is the unmissable event for trail running, wine and nature enthusiasts. Now in its 11th edition, with more than 3600 registered, it is one of the most famous running races in the off-road racing panorama.
On 9th November, get ready to race through the wonderful vineyards of Valtellina, one of the most beautiful wine regions in Italy, and discover the Valtellina wines, including the Sforzato DOCG and the Valtellina Superiore DOCG.
WHAT IS THE VALTELLINA WINE TRAIL?
The Valtellina Wine Trail is a trail running race that crosses the breathtaking views of terraced vineyards in Valtellina.
The 42 km starts from the historic center of Tirano and it stretches along the paths made on the dry-stone walls that lead to Bianzone, where it will pass through our La Gatta Estate. Then proceed to Chiuro, where the 21 km, half marathon with which it shares the route to Sondrio, passing by the most prestigious wineries of Valtellina. For an event that combines sport, nature and wine tradition, offering participants the opportunity to taste the best wines of Valtellina along the way.
TRIACCA AT THE VALTELLINA WINE TRAIL 2024
Triacca, a historic winery from Valtellina, will be present at the Valtellina Wine Trail 2024. We will not only be the place of passage of the marathon, but with our wines Sforzato and Valtellina Superiore DOCG, we want to offer runners and visitors a unique experience, between sport and tastings. - Prepare physically: the route is challenging, so train to face climbs and descents for a total of 1700 meters of elevation.
- Equipment: trail running shoes and technical clothing are essential.
