IL MONASTERO, SFORZATO DI VALTELLINA DOCG
Excellence of Valtellina, the Sforzato is a traditional wine made with Nebbiolo grapes harvested and left to dry in a fruit stand until at least December. It’s our red wine with the highest concentration of sugar and aromas, the symbol of the historic wine-growing economy in Valtellina.
Il Monastero, made from a strict selection of the grapes that dries for the Sforzato, is a red wine with an even more decisive character, showcasing the strength of those grapes that ripe on the steep slopes of Valtellina.
With an intense ruby red shade, its aromas vary from raspberry, violet and ripe plum to tobacco and chocolate. The palate is complex, concentrated and full of character, but still delicate: its acidity in good balance with ripe tannins and pleasant notes of wood that result from barrique aging make it an elegant and pleasantly persistent wine.
The ideal companion of savoury red meat and game, aged cheeses and dishes with intense flavours, this wine is also perfect to taste alone in moments of meditation.
You just have to try it! (And vote for it 😉)
